Constance Wu and Henry Golding star in this US romantic comedy based on the novel by Kevin Kwan. After dating for more than a year, Nick Young (Golding) decides it's finally time for his girlfriend, Rachel Chu (Wu), a New York economics professor, to meet his family when he travels back to Singapore for his best friend's wedding. Having mentioned little about his family, Rachel is shocked to discover Nick is the sole heir to a vast fortune as his family belong to the elite class of the super-rich. However, culture clashes and a cruel ultimatum from Nick's hostile family threaten to ruin their relationship.
