Magnetic therapy is a therapeutic method that uses one or more magnets placed on various parts of the body to achieve healing. Magnets have been known in the fields of physics and industry for centuries, but their positive effects in medicine were only discovered relatively recently and remain largely unknown. Magnets were considered to have miraculous properties in the past. For example, nobles wore them to prevent aging. Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, wore them on her forehead to preserve her beauty. They were also worn to relieve headaches. Some people believed that magnets had a soul because they moved iron. Magnetic therapy has only recently begun to be developed in some technologically advanced countries. The Aryans knew that magnets, in addition to their supernatural powers and their attraction to iron, have therapeutic properties. There is mention of magnet therapy for some diseases in the writings of some religions. It is believed that magnets were discovered several centuries before Christ, either by a shepherd named "e;Magnes"e; or due to the presence of iron oxide in Magnesia in Asia and elsewhere. The Greeks called it Magnetus or Magnetos, meaning stone, while the French called it "e;Aiman"e;, meaning magnet and lover.
