Hurt Left Behind

Suicide, The Hurt Left Behind is a non-profit, creative non-fiction novelette that contains actual cases involving people who took their own lives. It contains information that I hope in some way will help those that have been left behind to deal with the hurt of losing someone they loved to suicide. There are several interviews and hours of research in this book. It is not intended to completely solve the mystery of why someone would feel like the only way they can escape their emotional or physical pain is by taking their life. However, it does offer some possible explanations. Readers will read about actual suicide cases that I investigated over the course of a 25 year career as a law enforcement officer. There are also cases that family members (survivors) shared with me about the circumstances surrounding the suicide of their loved one. By the end of this book, readers will discover that even though they feel a hurt like no one could ever imagine, they are not alone with their pain and grief. This book also contains data, theories, medical opinions, and my opinions. I am not professing to be an expert about the subject of suicide. I did, however, investigate 69 suicides during my career, and no, that doesn't make me an expert, but I do think that it makes me knowledgable. What it also does is allow me to share with you things that I witnessed and learned over the course of my career.  I did not use names in any of the cases that you will read about; why? Out of respect for them and their families.
