Environmental Risk Analysis

This book addresses the assessment and management of risks related to environmental factors such as pollution, climate change and natural hazards.Environmental risk analysis sits at the crossroads of environmental science, policy, economics, and human behaviour. It asks how natural hazards affect human systems, who bears losses, and which interventions build resilience. Marking the 10th Anniversary of the ENVECON conference, the volume comprises 16 chapters that treat risk as systemic and dynamic, shaped by hazards, exposure, and vulnerability. The topics covered focus on risk assessment through causal econometrics, game theory, time-series, and panel modelling. These approaches target a diverse range of fields, such as sectoral evidence on extreme-weather productivity impacts, environmental taxation, environmental risks, and sustainability reporting. Valuable for postgraduate students, professionals, and policymakers involved in environmental science, engineering, and public policy, the book offers management tools and policy actions for decision-making under uncertainty and sustainable development.
