The scripture commends or rather instructs us to walk in the SPIRIT, that way we will not gratify the evil desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Right from the beginning, man's basic disposition was spiritual (Ephesians 1:3 - 4). They both, male and female were created in the image and likeness of the Eternal, Everlasting and Ever-Living Omniscient GOD, WHO is a SPIRIT (Genesis 1:26 - 28; John 4:24). The scripture is clear in revealing and depicting GOD as a SPIRIT being.

Being spiritually oriented from creation, since the soul of man was both inclined and tuned to the inner spirit man, which has GOD and spirit realm consciousness, it was the fall that rendered men carnal or rather fleshly oriented. Prior to their fall, men's pleasure was derived from their office of kingship/rulership/dominion, which is GODs right hand of power given unto them (Genesis 1:26 - 28), and their joy came from the presence of GOD during the seasons of divine fellowship and communion (Psalm 16:11, Genesis 3:8 - 9).

In their foolishness, they looked outwardly, that is to the flesh and the earth for gratification instead of GOD, and they thereby fell and came short of the glory of GOD (Romans 3:23). Their fall occurred when the soul looked outward/outside of the Kingdon of GOD for gratification (Luke 17:21). Thus, GOD exclaimed in the 6th chapter of Genesis, verse three, "MY spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh." This scripture portion clearly amplifies two critical issues. Firstly, it reveals that man is a spirit of GOD, or rather that the spirit/breath of life in man belongs to GOD. Secondly, is that man was made to be predominantly spiritual. Thus, it was the fall that made them conflicted between walking in the spirit and in the flesh (Galatians 5:17), thus GOD says that man also is flesh (Genesis 6:3).

When GOD created man in HIS image and likeness, he made them to be spiritually inclined so that they could relate with HIM, since HE is a SPIRIT (John 4:24). It was their fall, after they were deceived, which sensitised them to the difference between good and evil. This sensitisation also marked the beginning of the conflict that is within men. Which is a conflict between good and evil, or rather between obeying GOD speaking inside them and the devil tempting them from outside. This conflict was mostly won by the devil overtime, as the wickedness of men increased exponentially in the earth (Genesis 8:21). This is due to the fact that men's inclination became predominantly flesh ward, as man eventually subscribed to their fleshly desires.

In this discourse, we endeavour to rediscover and recover man's original disposition, while also casting a path for GOD seekers to return to this ancient righteous path, in which the patriarchs of old walked (Jeremiah 6:16).
