This New Faith

There is a moment in the Gospel of John when Jesus sits down beside a well in Samaria and meets a woman who came only to draw water. He offers her something else - living water, and the most direct revelation of His own identity that He gave to anyone in the Gospels. The conversation that follows dissolves the walls between mountains, between peoples, between the religion of place and the worship of the Father in spirit and in truth.

This New Faith is a return to that well.

For two thousand years the Christian Faith has been carried, defended, fought over, institutionalized, fractured, and rebuilt. Along the way, much that was never meant to stand between the human heart and the living God has been quietly accumulated - denominational distinctives, philosophical machinery, traditions held as Scripture, Scripture flattened into a single voice. This book strips that accumulation back to the foundation: the direct words of God in the Hebrew Scriptures, the direct words of Jesus in the Gospels, and the voices of the eyewitnesses who walked with Him.

Across sixteen chapters and seven parts, This New Faith walks the reader through the whole arc of the Christian story - the God who is, the world He made, the Fall that broke it, the Son who came, the cross and the empty tomb, the people He is gathering, and the new heavens and new earth where the well becomes a river and the tree of life stands open again.
