The Tale of Nottingswood

Some stories are about the walls we build around ourselves. Some are about the walls others build around us. The best ones are about both.

The Tale of Nottingswood is perfect for families who not only want an engaging story ... they want a conversation.

Nottingswood is:

• A parable of courage for middle grade readers and families
• A must-have for classrooms exploring ethics, psychology, freedom, and personal growth
• A story that speaks to ages 6 and up, and to every adult who has ever forgotten who they really are

Somewhere between the twisted worlds of Tim Burton, the bouncing meters of Dr. Seuss, and the parables of C.S. Lewis, you will find the upside-down town of Nottingswood - where the Great Wall blocks out the sun, and Brother and Sister guard the Great Nottings Gate without ever asking why. Until one day a curious cry from the center of town changes everything.

Lured from their hohumly home, Brother and Sister stumble upon a creature that has the power to change their lives forever. To keep it alive, they must hide it from those who want it dead and sneak outside the Nottings Gate they were born to protect. But the deeper they venture outside the Wall, the more they begin to discover that the most important walls in Nottingswood were never made of stone. Together, Brother and Sister must defy the Order of Voices, dodge the meddling Ms. Grouse, and face the austere hand of the Judge on an adventure they'll never forget.

The Tale of Nottingswood is a fairy tale in verse about the walls that keep us from the world, the walls that keep us from ourselves, and the one small act of courage that begins to bring them both down.
