The Pursuit

A family canoeing vacation turns into a terrifying ordeal as a mother and her children are forced to flee through the wilderness, pursued by a relentless stranger. The mother finds her relationship with God challenged both by the man who wants to kill them and by a man who tries to save them. A story of faith, doubt, struggle, and sacrifice.

When Sarah, Bobby, and their three children stop at Picnic Landing, halfway through a day of whitewater canoeing, all they expect is a quiet lunch. Bobby takes a walk up the riverbank and returns running for his life, chased by a pistol-wielding stranger.

Thus begins a terrifying ordeal that will push Sarah and her children to the limits of their physical and spiritual strength. Along the way they meet a mysterious recluse who tries to help them, but whose personal story challenges Sarah's relationship with God as much as the relentless pursuit.

Note to any Christian reader: This is not a typical Christian novel. It is a portrayal of faith, not a promotion of it. If it strengthens faith, it is by challenging and examining it. The opinions of a doubter are expressed at length and not fully refuted. I'm explaining this, author to reader, because it doesn't do either of us any good if you are disappointed. If this sounds interesting, I hope you'll read the story, but if it sounds annoying, I hope you wont.
