The Clan of Thiuderieks

Led by the most dangerous pair of women of the Clan of Thiuderieks, Rhoda and Yohanna, and their lovers, Ricardo and Hans, The Saga of the Golden Chain inverts the classical tale of Dr. Faustus selling his soul for the love experience of his life. The Devil is on the hook to pay up. The Saga begins, one might say, with a reckless adventure prompted by a blinding scientific ambition of a modern scientist of the 1960s. The Saga also has an ancient origin in another case of technical hubris in the person of Thiuderieks himself, eight thousand years ago. The Old Goth language of primitive Makers preserved their ability to speak with the invisible gods who are our fellow creatures, and are vitally active in the secondary creation of our universe. The narrative actually begins with Thiuderieks' cultural descendant, the Keen Maker Rhoda Knox skidding to a stop at her family ranch house in Texas, pursued by gods, whom she is also pursuing, in a deadly cosmic game. The six volumes of the Saga are best read in sequence as one entertaining thought experiment.
