The Abyss Beneath The Snow

Unemployed and aimless, city youth Zhang Baoqing is exiled by his parents to the remote falcon-hunting village of Yingtun, nestled deep in the Changbai Mountains. There, he meets the sharp-tongued siblings Er-Bizi and Caigua, who challenge his endless bragging by dragging him into the snowy wilderness to hunt foxes.

But instead of foxes, they stumble upon a pack of ravenous lynxes-and in their desperate escape, the trio crashes through a snowbank and plunges into a hidden valley. What they find is beyond imagination: a fortress-like mansion buried in the legendary sinkhole, once home to the elusive Gold King, Ma Dianchen.

Ma was a peasant turned war survivor, smuggler, and mountain outlaw-his life a whirlwind of near-glory and bitter loss. Though fate promised him riches, it denied him peace. He vanished into the abyss, building a palace atop gold and silence, sealing himself away from the world.
