It starts with a 5 a.m. alarm.Laura Mitchell is an ER nurse and a single mom in Cedar Falls, Ontario. When her seven-year-old son Ethan first laces up his skates, she has no idea what she's signing up for: the early mornings, the minivan full of hockey bags, the tryouts and the cuts, the tournaments, the snowstorm drives, the billet families, the draft nights - and the phone call every hockey parent dreams of.rinkside follows Laura and Ethan from those first wobbly strides on a small-town rink all the way to his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's a story about the cost of a dream, the weight of believing in a child, and the woman standing behind the glass, season after season, who never stopped showing up.For every hockey mom, hockey dad, and anyone who has ever cheered from the stands.
