Recognition theory is now an influential approach to the study of identity, social conflict, multiculturalism, distribution, democracy and justice. By aligning the literature on Axel Honneth's theory with that of political communication, this study examines a neglected, but significant topic, namely the interfaces between struggles for recognition and the media.
