Quranic fundamentalism

Quranic Fundamentalism is an introduction, defence, and explanation of Quranism. It is a cogent treatise broken down into thirteen chapters primarily comprising deep theological study based upon the verses of the Quran, with biblical cross-references supplied for context. The theological studies of the book are its main emphasis, and they engage core issues of religious doctrine, soteriology, rationalism, language, sectarianism, and piety. It is dense on scriptural citations relative to its length because of its scriptural-fundamentalist approach.

Quranic Fundamentalism while being primarily concerned with theology, includes some sociocultural commentary and measured critique of traditionalism. It also regards some of the faults of contemporary Quranism in the interests of balance and fairness.

Religious thought does not occur in a vacuum. Because of this, it is sometimes necessary to regard sensitive sociocultural facts in order to comprehensively evaluate theology. This comprehensive evaluation connects the prevailing cultural values of traditional Muslims, the development of religious doctrine in traditionalism, and the underpinning intellectual attitudes of Muslims especially with regard to the cognitive faculty of reason. Here, reference is made to both cognitive and cultural psychology to elucidate some of the mechanisms which keep people in intellectual and spiritual darkness.
