Purposefully Missing

Some men don't vanish. They escape.

The plan became bigger than the man.

Robert is a Navy veteran on the Texas Gulf Coast who has been backed into a corner. His ex-wife is fighting him for custody and money in court, the lawsuits keep coming, and he's out of moves. So one night he leaves his old gray pickup at the end of the railroad tracks and walks away.

Back home, the search begins. His sister goes public and points the finger at his wife: Kimmie must have killed him. Strangers pick sides online, podcasters chase the story, and a family splits open over a man everyone believes is dead.

Robert is alive, and he's watching.

South of the border he builds a new name and a new life, and he becomes a new kind of man. Each lie gets easier, and each line he crosses takes him further from the man he used to be. He's sure he has gotten away with all of it. And now he's thinking about going back.

Inspired by a true story, Purposefully Missing is a dark psychological thriller about a disappearance, the people left behind to explain it, and what happens to a man who decides he has nothing left to lose.
