Chase Dietz is on the run; from the U.S. Marshals attempting to protect him, and also the crime boss who killed his father. The only safe haven is the dirty valley town of Shadow Pass.

When he stumbles into town half-dead, with an assumed identity, he has two names on his lips-Cookie and Buddy Dietz. Cookie Evans, the patriarch of the Evans family, rushes him to a secluded cabin in the woods. The name Buddy Dietz hasn't been uttered in Shadow Pass in seventeen years, after a botched drug deal went horribly sideways.

Rebecca Evans has a past she can't outrun. A critical care surgeon, turned small-town primary care physician, she's called out to the cabin to save a drifter's life. When Rebecca recognizes a familiar tattoo, she knows this man isn't whom he claims to be.

Saving Chase means confronting a past buried but not forgotten. As well as facing down an unhealthy attraction to a man, with a damaged past of his own, who exacerbates her PTSD. As both the good and bad guys close in on Chase, the Evans family scrambles to keep him safe.

Can Rebecca find a way to accept her past, and also create a new future for herself, before they all run out of time?
