This is a full-length comic series based on the legendary Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang. Created with the official authorization and under the supervision of his son, Mei Baojiu, the project was closely guided by him throughout his lifetime.

Following the Marco Polo Bridge Incident on July 7th, 1937, Mei Lanfang relocated with his entire family, first to Hong Kong and later to Shanghai, in an effort to escape the ravages of war. It was during this tumultuous period that the patriotic young man Zhao Jifang, often referred to as the ""Young Mei Lanfang,"" formally became his disciple.
