Max the Mouse Makes Soup

Max the mouse is hungry, and he has the perfect plan: make a warm, delicious pot of soup!

But when one little sprinkle of salt turns into a few too many, Max discovers that even the best plans can get a little messy. Luckily, his friend Sam is there to help. Together, they learn that mistakes can be fixed, friends can help, and trying again can make things even better.

But this isn't just a story to sit and listen to.

Max the Mouse Makes Soup invites little learners right into the adventure. Children can join Max with playful repeated sounds like "Mmmm!" and "Swish, swish, swish!", listen for the beginning /m/ sound, answer simple story questions, and become a little Sound Detective as they connect sounds, pictures, and meaning.

Designed especially for early learners, the book gently supports:

• beginning sound awareness and the letter M
• listening and expressive language
• vocabulary development
• story comprehension
• character, problem, and solution
• participation and confidence
• early question-answering and recall

Warm illustrations, predictable language, repetition, and interactive moments make the story approachable even for children who are just beginning their learning journey.

Read it. Say it. Find it. Talk about it.

Max the Mouse Makes Soup is Book 1 in the ARA Kindergarten Story Collection: Listen, Look & Join In, created by Alexis Reid Academy to make early learning feel like storytime.
