Little Builders

Every skill has a story.

It's Christmas at Liv and Mack's house, and the family is arriving in work boots, hard hats and welding helmets. Liv has two cards ready, BUILDERS and FIXERS, and she wants everyone to pick a team. Then the kids start to notice the skilled hands behind everything around them. Someone wired the lights, ran the pipes and built the table. Someone baked the bread and moved the cranes, and someone even made parts for the satellites crossing the Christmas sky.

Little Builders: The Christmas Crew is a warm, festive picture book about the skilled trades all around us. It celebrates the people who imagine, plan, build and fix the world we live in, and it shows that every skill helps bring us together.

Inside you'll find:

• Eight illustrated story scenes full of real trades, from electricians and plumbers to crane operators and machinists
• A "Can You Find Jackson?" search-and-find with the family's golden retriever
• The 23 Trade Ornaments: a look at Ontario's 23 compulsory skilled trades
• A note for grown-ups with simple conversation starters about work, skill and safety

Sometimes we build. Sometimes we fix. Sometimes we do both.

A thoughtful holiday gift for families, grandparents, and employers who want to celebrate the trades with the next generation.
