It covers the biosynthesis of leukotrienes, their release in pathological conditions, progress in the characterisation of leukotriene receptors, and the elucidation of signal transduction mechanisms following receptor activation. Particular attention has been directed at the use of the increasing number of available leukotriene receptor antagonists and biosynthesis inhibitors in diseases such as asthma and rhinitis.
