Interstellar Colonists

In Interstellar Colonists, Mara and her fellow colonists leave Earth for Proxima b aboard a ship powered by Chandler's Dynamic Hamiltonian equation. Their journey depends on molecularising both people and cargo, then reconstructing them at their destination, a process that raises a troubling question: will the people who arrive still be the people who left?

After a 15-day transit, the crew reaches an unfamiliar world and begins the difficult work of surveying it and establishing a settlement. They must turn limited supplies into shelter, water and food while learning to live and work together.
Celia's hopes for a new home gradually meet the realities of a planet that cannot be shaped to human wishes alone.

As the colonists investigate a strange frost and its changing boundary, evidence suggests that a living process may already be present.
Then a ground event threatens the greenhouse and the fragile beginnings of the colony. The crew must respond quickly, protect what they have built, and reconsider where, and how, they can safely expand.

Interstellar Colonists is a story of identity, discovery and the difficult work of beginning again among the stars.
