IN CASE OF FLOOD STAND ON THIS BOOK...IT'S DRY ENGLISH

American Poet Michael C Ford's new collection of poetry, titled IN CASE OF FLOOD STAND ON THIS BOOK...IT'S DRY ENGLISH, is a large, illuminated edition designed by graphic artist Daniel Yaryan. It features the largest collection of poetry yet from the fantastic wordsmith from Los Angeles. This highly collectible, full-color volume shows Ford at his absolute best, accompanied by a plethora of graphic intensifiers from 25 different artists.

Here is praise for Michael C Ford and his new collection:

"Ford is at his best expressing a vulnerability that's, at once, poignant and satirical. He's writing about an America socognizant of its roots, it embraces the kitsch of its past and some dreams for its future."
=Laurel Ann Bogen (LA Herald-Examiner)

"His words are a musical gumbo. They, quite often, possess the quick rhythms and the irreverent spontaneity of jazz."
=Don Heckman (LA Times)

"Jazz and poetry are linked by their intrinsic nature of both being ever-changing, improvisational art forms of expression. Similarly, to jazz, Ford's poetry is full of depth and full of surprise. With his accentuated rhythms of selected subjectivity in books and innumerable recordings he, here, continues weaving new melodic lines and sweeping stanzas of chord changes with the assurance of a horn player."
=Roger Crane (International Review Of Music)

"The peripatetic poet has long essayed Pacific Coast League baseball, film noir femme fatales, West Coast jazz icons (like Stan, Chet, Art, Shorty, and Shelly) and, of course, his smog-banked Fatherland Los Angeles. Ford is a walking Central Library of cultural memory, and he's always worth consulting for perspective. What he contributes to a recording jacket liner note has been the way it used to feel like winning the daily double at Hollywood Park."
=Kirk Silsbee (Billboard)
"
"Readers can dig his colloquial register because his idioms musical, geographic and encyclopedic simultaneously. Some of the pieces are lists that read like liturgy and almost every poem in the book is accompanied with some illustration, photograph or collage piece."
=Mike Sonksen (Poetrybay)
