How to Calm Down!

How to Calm Down featuring Sparkelina is the fourth book in the award-winning emotional intelligence book series. It is a fun and easy teaching tool that uses Kinderwise® characters to demonstrate soothing techniques as well as positive self-talk. By simply following along, children can learn to regulate their anger and anxiety.

Self-regulation is a crucial cognitive process that enables humans to act appropriately in situations that might otherwise cause frustration, impatience or anger. This process begins to develop in infancy and is heavily intertwined with social development.

KINDERWISE® was founded by a mom based in Southern California. She noticed that much of what she taught her child could be described as "The How-To's of Life!'' She wanted to present these subjects in a way that children would remember.

With this in mind, she developed an EQ book series and other products featuring SPARKELINA® (a young girl), BUSYBEE (a giant bee), and SOPHIE (a pink elephant). This dynamic trio suddenly find themselves having to get along in the world for the first time. The friends learn valuable lessons in this wonderful new place. Experiencing life through the eyes of these characters allows children to learn in a fun and interactive way. This is the central concept of Kinderwise®.

Parents and educators may also use their reading time as a conversation starter and delve into the real-life experiences of their children by using the "Suggested Reading Methods" outlined at the beginning of the book.
