Harrowmere

At 11:43 p.m., a black door appears where a hospital wall has always been. Liora Vale opens it.

On the other side is Harrowmere.

It is beautiful in the way dangerous things often are. A hidden school of black stone, candlelit halls, impossible gardens, living reflections, and old traditions built around a kind of magic Liora has never encountered before.

At Harrowmere, magic is not something you simply command.

It answers.

Bodies respond before minds understand. Rooms remember. Objects hold intention. Students are taught to recognize the difference between desire and permission before something else decides the difference for them.

But Harrowmere was expecting Liora long before she arrived.

Her mother begins remembering a college Liora never applied to. A hospital badge exists where it should not. A girl named Mara Veyne appears in dreams, mirrors, water, and records that do not agree on what happened to her.

Officially, Mara left.

No one at Harrowmere seems willing to say more.

With three other first-years beside her, Liora begins keeping track of the things the school would rather interpret for them. What begins as survival becomes a search through buried records, student-made warnings, forbidden rooms, and a history built around one disturbing question:
