FYROM downtown

Français // FYROM downtown est le point d'orgue d'un reportage photographique effectué dans l'ancienne Yougoslavie, plus précisément en République de Macédoine. Il est structuré en quatre sections, consacrées aux villes de Tetovo, Kumanovo, Veles et Skopje. En s'écartant volontairement des sites pittoresques ou touristiques, qu'ils soient naturels ou ? fort potentiel architectural, FYROM downtown présente une Macédoine urbaine inattendue et surprenante, révélée par un regard singulier qui s'aventure notamment au coeur de lieux étranges, vides ou abandonnés. Les espaces du réel, pourtant empreints du quotidien, sont ici transformés en vecteurs d'abstraction : les éléments, lignes et textures issus de la mati?re physique acqui?rent un sens nouveau et constituent des représentations graphiques au sens esthétique insoupçonné. Les associations de photographies, qui composent des facettes urbaines inédites, participent ? l'interrogation du monde tangible. La délicate imbrication de ces visions fragmentées recompose une Macédoine sans fard, brute et authentique. English // FYROM downtown is the culmination of a photographic journey made in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). It is structured in four sections, dedicated to the cities of Tetovo, Kumanovo, Veles and Skopje. By voluntarily moving away from picturesque or tourist sites, whether natural or with high architectural potential, FYROM downtown presents an unexpected and surprising urban Macedonia, revealed by a singular look that ventures particularly into the heart of strange, empty or abandoned places. The spaces of reality, yet full of everyday life, are here transformed into axis of abstraction: the elements, lines and textures stemming from physical matter acquire a new meaning and establish graphic representations of an unsuspected aesthetic sense. The combinations of photographs, which compose unprecedented urban facets, participate in the interrogation of the tangible world. The delicate interweaving of these fragmented visions reconstructs a raw and authentic Macedonia.
