Las bases sociológicas, económicas y, por tanto, jurídicas del deporte en su conjunto han variado en los últimos años de tal manera que los esquemas y formas de organización y de entendimiento del modelo deportivo que nos han servido hasta aquí exigen una profunda transformación. Esta transformación es especialmente sensible en un momento en el que la crisis económica exige un esfuerzo de cooperación entre las Administraciones Públicas -las grandes proveedoras de los servicios deportivos- y de colaboración con el conjunto de agentes que participan en la organización deportiva. Las bases históricas de estas relaciones están hoy sujetas a revisión porque los respectivos papeles han cambiado de una forma perceptible. En este estado de cosas y con la vocación de contribuir al debate sobre la necesidad de la refundación del modelo la presente Obra realiza un repaso de los elementos centrales del actual modelo deportivo y formula propuesta de cambio y transformación del mismo. Un cambio como el que necesita el modelo deportivo exige análisis sectorial, estudios multidisciplinares y reflexión sobre el enfoque. Lo que aquí se propone tiene un componente esencialmente jurídico y organizativo, como dos elementos más de los que deben conformar el debate sobre un nuevo modelo.
