Human history is built upon forgotten foundations; and some of them are beginning to remember.

Elias Ward has spent his career tracing connections others dismiss: recurring symbols, impossible architectural patterns, and fragments of knowledge appearing across cultures separated by centuries. But when an ancient object responds to his presence, scholarly curiosity becomes something far more dangerous.

Buried beneath stone circles, temples, forgotten roads, and sealed chambers lies the Lattice - a hidden network spanning Scotland, Egypt, ancient Rome, and places erased from the historical record. At its centre is the Seed, an ancient system capable of preserving more than information. It carries memory, responds to consciousness, and may reveal what existed before civilisation learned to write its own history.

Elias is soon caught between forces that have guarded the secret for generations. Vera Albrecht believes the truth must remain hidden until humanity is ready. Matthäus Keller believes civilization is running out of time - and that the Seed must be controlled before collapse becomes inevitable. Mara Sen is determined to protect Elias from both sides, especially as they begin treating him less like a man and more like the key to an unfinished experiment.

As dormant sites awaken and memories surface that cannot belong to him, Elias must decide which truths can be trusted-and whether survival ever justifies the removal of choice.
