What if "finding yourself" is the wrong place to start?

We are often told to go out into the world, discover who we are, follow our dreams, and build a life around what we find. But long before we consciously choose a direction, family, culture, success, failure, pain, education, technology, and the people around us have already been forming us.

Before You Go Find Yourself asks a more important question:

Who is forming you, and where is the road you are on actually taking you?

The Formation Road begins with truth. It asks us to examine what we inherited, what we assumed, what we learned, and what we have simply repeated long enough to believe.

Then it asks us to do something with what we discover.

Truth must become understanding.
Understanding must become formation.
Formation must become faithfulness.

This is not only a book for students or young adults beginning their productive years. Sometimes the real beginning comes much later, when we finally realize we have been traveling the wrong road.

That is where repentance begins.

Stop.

Turn around.

Start walking in the right direction.
