En este texto compartimos con el lector una investigación cuyo objetivo pretende identificar algunos contenidos, significados y vivencias en torno a las tensiones que supone ser futbolista y estudiante universitario, analizando entrevistas en profundidad realizada a estudiantes de pregrado de una universidad venezolana. Como resultado, se obtuvieron cuatro (4) documentos por participante organizados en temas y subtemas que exponen las narrativas identitarias de cada uno, encontrándose como hallazgos comprensiones y explicaciones de sí mismos relativos a: el lugar que ocupa el deporte en sus vidas; las tensiones y conflictos vivenciados por ser futbolista y estudiante en el contexto universitario venezolano; cómo influyen las personas más significativas a estas tensiones y conflictos; y finalmente, qué futuro se puede visibilizar a la luz de la tensión entre deporte y "obtener un título universitario", como ideal social dominante.
