Addiction is the story of Lee Bryan, who meets, and after short time marries Susan Reese. Despite early signs of emotional problems with Susan's suspicions about her family, and a visit from Jim Porter, a law enforcement official who enforces Lee's suspicions, he tries to build a stable relationship with his wife. Lee eventually determines that Susan's family is trafficking in drugs, meth-amphetamines, and assists Porter in his efforts to stop them. Susan's brothers and sister don't sit idle while Porter tracks their movements. They make plans to evade capture if cornered by law enforcement agents. These plans prove deadly when Porter makes his move, and Lee pays the price for loving Susan.
