This research work has been carried out to ascertain the overall state of management educational institutes in North India. Cluster sampling method has been used, with each state forming a cluster and Uttar Pradesh cluster was picked up by random means. Uttar Pradesh is the most populous stat in India and it has the largest number of management institute, compared to the other states in North India. The researcher tried to get authentic data from each institute but as he could collect the data only through questionnaire, interview, administered to the teaching staff, non teaching staff and the students and secondary data available in the institute's prospectus and brochure, the degree of authenticity of data or their accuracy, as desired by the researcher, may not be there, as there was no independent and unbiased source of information available. Also as the research was carried out about four years back, despite continuous updating of data from time to time, some differences from the actual state of an institute now may still be noticeable.
